Remember the launch meetup? It seems like ages ago.
To see what Judi Grove and her team have put together is just amazing. The Turn Tulsa Pink movement is part of the Pink Heals Tour International – a countywide effort to honor and support all the women and children in local communities, businesses, and families who have battled or lost their battle to cancer.“As the only city in the nation to have four different pink emergency vehicles, we have been overwhelmed by the support of the community. We are looking forward to a week full of events and for Tulsa to show its true color, Pink,” says Judi Grove, Chairwomen for Turn Tulsa Pink.
As a focus act of love through pink, Turn Tulsa Pink is currently working with multiple businesses, organizations, churches and schools in Tulsa County to show their support of this great cause by “turning” features of their organizations pink. These businesses includes but not limited to the Ark Wrecking Company, Bank of Oklahoma, BOK Arena, the Tulsa Convention Center, McNellie’s Group, the Golden Driler, Philtower, the Renaissance Hotel, and many, many more.
Turn Tulsa Pink is also working with ten local non-profits who provide help and support for women and children with cancer. Through these efforts, Turn Tulsa Pink is raising awareness of and funds for these organizations.
The ten non-profits are American Cancer Society, Anna’s Bells Ovarian Cancer Support Group, Breast Impressions, Cancer Sucks, National Cervical Cancer Coalition, The Oklahoma Family Network, Oklahoma Project Women, Random Acts of Purpose, Soulful Survivors, and Young Survivors Coalition Tulsa.
Events are planned throughout the week of October 22nd through October 29th, 2011 to celebrate the lives of those who have survived and remember those who died.
Social Media Tulsa will celebrate during our October Social Media Summit Meetup at Tulsa Tech.
Everyone who attends will receive a crash course in Social Media and their very own Turn Tulsa Pink T-Shirt. Judi will also be on hand to share with us the many events going on through out the city during Turn Tulsa Pink!
