Since it’s introduction in June 2011, business owners have been clamoring to join Google plus. While I personally like the person to person interaction on the new network, it was only a matter of time when business pages would be added.
Several companies, big brands, and news organizations have already begun using Google+ to interact with customers. Toyota, Macy’s, NBC News, and even the Dallas Cowboys have set up shop on Google plus.
I even saw where The Muppets held a Google+ hangout yesterday. (Sadly I missed it)
Set up was pretty easy, I simply entered in my phone number and the page took me to my existing Google Places page.
The rest, as an experienced Google+ user, was an easy set up process.
I know the comparisons to Facebook and other social sites will continue, but in my opinion, Google Plus is not in the same category as other social networks. Mostly, because it fits so seamlessly into the other Google products most of us already use. Chrome, Gmail, Android, Places, and of course Search. If someone is conducting a Google search for you or your brand, Google+ will be a powerful advantage. What do you think?
