What’s new
Share and save your experiences
The new friends tab has huge, swipeable photos, plus tips, lists, and places your friends have saved. They have also added the ability to quickly ‘like’ and comment on activity.
Discover what’s nearby
The re-imagined Explore gives you ideas of where to go the moment you open it up (you don’t even have to search). The app will now tell you where your friends are, where you can save money, and what you might like nearby. It even knows if you’re in your home neighborhood or traveling and adjusts the recommendations. It’s not the one-size-fits-all approach to local discovery you’re used to; it’s smart, because it’s customized based on each of your check-ins, your friends’ check-ins, and the more than 2,000,000,000 check-ins from the foursquare community.
Find what you’re craving
You can also use Explore to browse popular categories, or find something specific, like ‘free wi-fi’ or ‘dumplings.’ It’s a great tool for planning a night out or a week-long vacation.
Probably my favorite, since I often check in on my way out.
